I am a Broadway/Off- Broadway/Regional theater stage actor (26 + years), singer (since birth - ask my mom), voice actor (19 + years), voice coach/acting teacher (8+ years), Mom of two (13+ years) and - when I have time - I jump in front of a screen and don the hat of screen actor as well! I have a broadcast quality home studio I use 5 days a week for records (series, video games, animated films, podcasts, etc.) and 7 days a week for auditions - studio specs under "Representation"!
I am in love with the art of acting. Technique is my fascination and true passion. If I was going to geek out over anything, it would be Maggie Smith in Downton Abbey, Bobcat Goldthwait in One Crazy Summer, Mo Collins as Lorraine on Mad TV, the late great Philip Seymour Hoffman in Boogie Nights, Eddy Redmayne in The Danish Girl, Frank Oz and Jim Henson in any capacity of creation or performance, Pat Carrol as Ursula and Garfield's Grandma and Mel Blanc as everyone! I enjoy transforming with truth and equally enjoy seeing other actors find their craft and do the same. I believe the best actors find an amalgamation of knowledge and experience and discover their own technique they can call upon that is hidden under the surface of the performance.
I grew up on The Smurfs, Scooby-Doo, old clips of Fred Astaire and watching reruns of The Carol Burnett Show & I Love Lucy. All my training early on was working on the school plays and musicals (Kristen Linklater, The Alexander Technique and Viola Spolin). I ended my high school years performing and reciting 1,600 lines of Rosalind as a 17 year old Shakespeare nerd. A Chorus Line, Carousel, West Side Story and Into the Woods had me yearning to sing my face off. I started studying Opera at age 14 and was born to sing the songs of both Richard Rogers & Harold Arlen . I graduated honors from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts studying in three of their studios, CAP 21 (Musical Theater), Classical (Shakespeare) and Stone Street (Film & TV). I studied all techniques from Adler to Meisner and coupled my Linklater training with Arthur Lessac. I believe it's those 8 years of combined learning that made me the working actor that I am. I wouldn't trade one day of my voice and speech for anything. Even with a sizable talent scholarship I still had a mound of college debt but was able to pay it off on time with money made solely from acting work. Yes, I'm proud of that, heh!
I will always be in love with all things Shakespeare, Broadway and Cartoons! An odd combo, but I'm not your typical gal. I specialize in character creation for creatures, old women, young boys, accented characters and talking dairy produce. If you give me a character that is grounded with heart, I will feel and portray it with panache (yes, I love Cyrano too).
I am passionate about kindness, the environment, LGBTQ rights, autism awareness, BLM and diversity in casting. My greatest gift is being the mother to my two incredible children - Giving them the fiber to be good humans and the courage, wisdom and heart to spread love, joy and inclusion.
